The Keramos National Professional Ceramic Engineering Fraternity was established in 1902 to promote the interaction between professionals and students in the field of ceramic engineering. A chapter of the Keramos Fraternity was established at North Carolina State in or before 1941, and remained active through at least 1978, though has since disbanded. The Keramos Fraternity is an affiliate of the American Ceramic Society, a student chapter of which was active on the NC State campus for a period coinciding with (though slightly longer than) the activity of the Keramos chapter. Lambda Chi Alpha is a social fraternity that was founded in 1909 at Boston University. North Carolina State's chapter (the Gamma Upsilon Zeta Chapter) was installed in 1924, having been initially formed in 1920 as the Pi Alpha fraternity and then later petitioning to join Lambda Chi Alpha. The Gamma Upsilon Zeta Chapter became the 65th chapter of the fraternity at its installation, and remained active until 1998, when financial problems led to the closure of the chapter. Less

The records of North Carolina State University's delegation to the North Carolina Student Legislature (NCSL) contain a small amount of materials on NC State student delegates (including clipping, correspondence, rosters, and other general information), as well as materials from Legislative meetings, including committee reports, bills and resolutions, general information from meetings, the NCSL's constitution, and various items submitted by other universities in the Legislature. The purpose of the NCSL is to allow students a first-hand experience with the legislative process, while promoting public speaking and social networking skills development, and promoting the state-wide discussion of topics important to college students, often leading to proposals presented before local, state, and national politicians. North Carolina State University began participating in the NCSL in or before 1948. The university's student enrollment at that time allowed for up to twenty-five delegates to be sent to annual meetings (a figure which was used at least through 1978), though in some years, the university was represented by fewer than twenty-five students. Meetings of the NCSL were often held at the state governmental buildings in downtown Raleigh, just a few miles from the NC State campus. This collection also contains publications created by the Phi Eta Sigma national office. Phi Eta Sigma was founded at the University of Illinois in 1923 as an academic honor society for freshman students. North Carolina State's chapter was granted on 16 May, 1930, with the distinction of being both the 12th chapter nationally, and the first within the state of North Carolina (because of this, NC State's chapter was for a period of time known as the "Alpha Chapter of North Carolina"). The Sigma Pi Fraternity was established in 1897 to promote scholarship and character while helping young men to develop leadership qualities and build lasting friendships. North Carolina State College (University) was granted a chapter (the Rho Chapter) in the Sigma Pi Fraternity in May of 1921, composed of the brothers of the former Sigma Chi Gamma Fraternity on NC State's campus. The records of the North Carolina State University State's Mates include reports, programs, correspondence, photographs, clippings, bulletins, minutes, membership information, and yearbooks. The majority of the materials date from the late 1950s to the early 1970s. State’s Mates was organized in the fall of 1947 by the State College Woman’s Club as a bridge group. It was eventually reorganized to engage student’s wives in a variety of social and service activities including the Mrs. NC State pageant, fashion shows, and fundraising for the March of Dimes. The members also participated in frequent programs about various domestic issues ranging from decorating on a budget to coping with common marital problems. The Student Government records contain meeting minutes, agenda, correspondence, news releases, publications, and financial records generated as a result of the establishment and activities of Student Government on NC State University's campus. Of particular interest are documents describing the "Student Rebellion" of 1905 which facilitated the need for student governing on campus as well as records documenting the ratification of the Constitution in 1955 and the creation of the Student Senate in 1969. There are also records concerning campus elections, political rallies and community involvement as well as student "disturbances" on and off campus. In addition, the collection contains publications of student government laws, bound copies of annual records and community service type publications which were circulated among the entire student body. The records also contain digital media related to the Student Government website, as well as archived content of the official website itself, beginning in 2017. Student Government at North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering (later North Carolina State University) began in 1921. At that time, the group was made up of both students and faculty and was called Campus Government. Following the establishment of the Faculty Senate in 1954, a new Student Government Constitution was ratified in 1955, reestablishing a separate Student Government which included a student body president and governing committees.
