Fellows Program

Thank you for your interest in the NCSU Libraries Fellows Program. Given the impacts of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision not to hire a new cohort of Fellows for 2021-23. We remain committed to the NCSU Libraries Fellows Program, now and into the future. We will be extending the eligibility window for the 2022-24 cohort with that recruitment set to begin later in 2021. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Garrett, Director, Talent Management, at jennifer_garrett@ncsu.edu.

The Fellowship: Your First Professional Library Position

Are you a recent graduate hoping to launch your academic library career at a top research university known for its competitive edge, innovative spirit, and commitment to diversity?

Do you want to grow your experience with science and engineering information, digital libraries, or library administration?

The NCSU Libraries Fellows Program offers new librarians a two-year appointment during which you develop expertise in a functional area and contribute to an innovative initiative of strategic importance. Fellows are fully integrated members of the library faculty performing as entry-level librarians half time in a home department. The remaining time is devoted to a project in an area outside the home department. Projects support strategic initiatives while providing concrete and innovative opportunities for Fellows to interact with librarians from other departments and achieve at a professional level.
