Did you know that a significant number of NC State students face basic-needs challenges—30% experience food insecurity, and 14% have faced homelessness? Alongside employing more than 250 students, the Libraries support student success by providing essential resources such as free textbooks, technology lending, welcoming study spaces, and much more. Your support of the Libraries helps ensure every student—regardless of circumstance—has what they need to thrive.

Tom Regan Visiting Research Fellow for 2025
Zachary Ferguson, a Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy at UNC–Chapel Hill, has been selected as the 2025 Tom Regan Visiting Research Fellow. Ferguson is researching his dissertation about the evolution of the philosophical conversation about vegetarianism and veganism.
Data Science Consulting at the Libraries
When describing his work as a consultant for the Data Science Consulting program, Abhinandra (Abhi) Singh modified a popular quote from the Harry Potter series: “Help will always be given at NC State to those who ask for it.”
Support our Collections
With 4.5 million volumes and over 16 million uses of our collections last year, NC State University Libraries’ collections reflects the strengths of the University across campus. We are recognized as a national leader in building extensive research holdings in the areas of engineering, science, technology, and agriculture.
$1 Million estate commitment gives Libraries comprehensive support to the Animal Rights and Welfare archive
The Wim DeKok Endowment in Animal Protection will provide support for the Libraries’ Animal Rights and Welfare Archive. Funds may support graduate assistants and researchers using the archive; preservation activities like transferring materials, creating enclosures, and rehousing; improving discoverability through digitization and description and acquisition of new materials for the archive.
