Microphones are available at every Libraries event and should be used by event facilitators, moderators, guests, and audience members when speaking to the full audience.

Physical or mobility needs

  • Elevators and accessible wayfinding are available in every library on the Accessibility at the Libraries page.
  • There are wheelchairs at the Hill Library and wheelchairs at the Hunt Library.
  • A wheelchair lift is available in event spaces with stages, including the Hunt Library. Auditorium and Duke Energy Hall. The D.H. Hill Jr. Auditorium has an accessible entrance and a ramp-accessible stage.
  • Every event will have a mix of chairs with and without arms and stationary as well as wheeled chairs.
  • If applicable, dietary needs will be surveyed prior to an event with food. Special requests or questions regarding food should be directed to the event coordinator.
