Shout-outs to Staff
The following are Libraries staff who have received a shout-out from one or more of their colleagues for going out of their way to be extra awesome at their job.
Julie Lu
The digital signs at the Hill Library and the Hunt Library need Julie to keep them going. So do the sensors that power the "How busy is the Hill Library?" and the "How busy is the Hunt Library?" displays. I'm grateful for the considerable amount of work Julie does to keep those running!

Robin Davis, Margaret Peak, Meredith Wynn, Cindy Levine
I brought an idea to the User Research Team: let’s learn more about the Faculty Research Commons users and their needs. Out of this idea came a great collaboration with Margaret, Robin, Meredith, and Cindy. We worked together for months to gather a variety of data, allowing us to dig into why, how, and how often faculty use these spaces at Hunt and Hill Libraries. From our study we were able to make more apparent the value and use of these spaces and give voice to the users’ recommendations for improvement. Each person contributed their valuable perspectives, time, skills, and technical know-how. It was a wonderful collaboration and I want to thank each partner for being part of our FRC study power team! Our collaboration is a great example of what makes it special to work at the Libraries. Thank you!

Kristen Rivers
For the past couple of years I have collaborated with Kristen to organize the Libraries New Faculty Lunch and Orientation. It’s been wonderful to work with her each time! She does an exceptional job with communicating with the faculty, organizing the various details for the event (programs, list of participants, name tags, etc.) and puts together a great lunch spread that accommodates all sorts of dietary needs. She always brings warmth to our interactions and attention to detail to the planning. The event goes smoothly with Kristen’s help and is appreciated by the faculty attendees. Thank you, Kristen, for being such a great partner!

Glenn Privette
Glenn is so helpful when planning and setting up for events. He is sure to ask all relevant questions, add you to a calendar invitation, and he follows up promptly when you have changes or questions.
When I forgot a few tables for my event he was flexible and able to get them for me in a matter of minutes. Thanks for all you do to make events at Hunt so easy and great Glenn!

Shawnte Clayton
I rarely get to work with Shawnte, but I am always impressed when I get to see evidence of her work. This week, at both Ask Us desks, Shawnte put out snacks and crafts for the student employees with seasonal themes and decorations. It was so cute, self-inspired, and really thoughtful. Our students - and we - are so lucky to have such a superstar looking out for the Ask Us crew and making everyone feel special in ways large and small!

Tim Mensa
Tim has been the most amazing collaborator in the Digital Media Lab, supporting Femme Beat-Making events and fostering a partnership with NC State Live so that we can provide participants with the opportunity to experience real-time performances from a variety of artists. Tim's kindness, professionalism, and support of everyone he works with is unmatched! Thank you, Tim!

Justin Haynes, Aryn Baker, Alison Edwards
Thank you to Justin, Aryn, and Alison for doing such a wonderful job planning and presenting the NC State Accessibility Collaborative's first field trip to the Makerspace.
We had such a great visit at the Makerspace and learned so much about how to make accessible learning materials. I think everyone who attended will not only be a Makerspace user going forward but will also recommend the Makerspace to colleagues and students. The event was also a great reminder of how important accessibility is to everyone in the libraries and how each of us is doing our part to make the libraries and the university more accessible.
Thanks so much for all your hard work and enthusiasm!

Jordan Booth
Libraries IT - Technology Services has had a large influx of new staff joining the team, and Jordan has been incredibly helpful in processing all of our requests that have been submitted. Whether it's getting new nameplates printed, processing door access needs, or helping us with last-minute bulky item transportation needs, she has been incredibly helpful to our whole team no matter what is sent her way. Thank you so much for all of your help, we appreciate you!

Working with Alex for almost six years now, I've seen how much he positively impacts the Libraries and campus community at large. From hosting AAPI culture nights, to bringing esteemed artists to campus, to developing grassroots wellness initiatives, he is always able to find ways to bring folks together and remind us to have fun as a community. Thanks, Alex!

Darrien Bailey
Darrien has created some of the most innovative and engaging content to come through our Libraries. Students and staff have all benefited from his ability to weave information, personality, and style into the videos he produces, among countless other projects. He's always pushing the needle forward, and I'm grateful to have that kind of energy around me. Thanks, Darrien!
