The following are Libraries staff who have received a shout-out from one or more of their colleagues for going out of their way to be extra awesome at their job.
Glenn Privette , Duncan McDonald, Joseph Cummings
Glenn, Duncan, and Joseph are always a huge help to me when I'm organizing classes and events in the high-tech spaces. They are super organized with my long list of requests each semester and get the room set up beautifully every time. My mind is always put at ease when I'm working with them. I know I can rely on them to have the room looking great and have everything I need in there. Recently we have had a lot of big events that required some unique set ups. They are quick to jump in and get things taken care of. I could not pull off all of these events without them, they are a crucial part of the success in the high-tech spaces. Thank you, team!

Joseph Jenkins
Joey's work is essential to our ability to deploy and manage devices across the Libraries' ecosystem, including in our more specialized learning spaces such as the Makerspace and VR Studio where we're featuring customized software stacks and images to meet patron needs!

Sarah Hawks
Sarah's work is essential to our learning spaces and pertinent communication to our users. By supporting the space pages (including their daily hours and events widgets) and our understanding of patron needs, Sarah puts us in a great position to staff and succeed at these concierge service points and our Studios team really appreciates her collaboration!

Robert LaSane
Robert kindly paused his work to help a student who had dropped their ID card in a very hard-to-reach place. His friendly, fast response helped someone in a stressful situation. Thank you, Robert!

Andrew Barefoot
An enormous thank you to Andrew!! We had last minute furniture needs for the opening of the Women's Herstory Immersive Exhibit in the Visualization Gallery. He quickly jumped in and helped get us the tables and sign holders that we needed. This exhibit was a collaboration with the Women's Center and they got to experience the excellent service and care that Andrew provides. I appreciate Andrew's friendly demeanor all of the time, but especially when we have unexpected and time-sensitive needs. Andrew is just a joy to know! All of the cool and innovative work that we do in the Viz Gallery and other spaces would not be as easy or fun without Andrew and the rest of OL&E. Thank you!

Jason Evans Groth
Audio/Video capture and production is one of those aspects of event planning which can, when not dealt with appropriately, derail an entire event and cause endless problems. I am incredibly grateful for the work of Jason and his students, who have made that stressful side of event planning so much easier. In particular, the work of he and his team on the Voices of the Russell School event in February 2024 was invaluable. Having that expertise in both the planning and execution stages of the event took an enormous weight off my shoulders, and I'm so grateful to have colleagues like him and his students.

Bravo to the team that upgraded the Libraries website to Drupal 10 — Erik Olson, Eric Pauley, Meredith Wynn, and Chris Bowen! And big thanks to Amir Blair and Robin Davis for testing. Keeping our large, complex website up to date is important, difficult work. It's the kind of work that would be easy to postpone and get behind on. Not this team! Because of them, we have a well-oiled machine.

Tri Huynh
Tri gives great, proactive customer service to our users at both Hill and Hunt AskUs. Our patrons know that they can rely on Tri to help solve a wide range of problems and needs and our students look to Tri for guidance in their work. Working alongside Tri at the service points is a delight!

Justin Haynes
Justin Haynes worked with the IT Community Event Awards Committee to create an extraordinary set of Nominee appreciation plaques for four awards with over 60 nominees. As if that was not an immense amount of work, he also worked to create the award plaques for over 20 award winners. Justin was given a short period and dealt with changing design requirements professionally and with a pleasant demeanor. Thanks, Justin!!

Shawnte Clayton
Miss Shawnte is a tremendous boon for the Access Services team. She is effortlessly perceptive of her surroundings and always quick to help out her peers. She is a natural problem solver, all action! She never hesitates to lend a hand or offer a helping hand. Shawnte brings out the best in all of us and it is always a pleasure to share the desk with her.
