The following are Libraries staff who have received a shout-out from one or more of their colleagues for going out of their way to be extra awesome at their job.
Katelan Haynes
Katelan Haynes is one of the hardest working people I have ever met. Not only is she responsible for making sure library resources get to their destinations every day which can be a grueling task, she also finds the time to help the department with ongoing projects; helps me receive, distribute, & ship hundreds of items every day; works on several committees; helps maintain the department's confluence page...honestly, the list could go on for days!
Not only does she work hard, but she is also a joy to be around! I genuinely look forward to seeing her at work. She makes the work day fun and I know no matter how stressful the days gets she's going to be right there making sure everything gets done. Katelan consistently goes above and beyond to help others and is deserving of all the shout outs!!

Adebola Fabiku
Over the past few months the Libraries has hired a number of new colleagues and throughout the organization we're helping them to get oriented. As part of the onboarding process in Access Services, Adebola created a thoughtful "buddy" system that pairs a new colleague with another departmental colleague with the goal of providing structured support for the new person. She shared this buddy system with some other interested managers and we've adapted it for new colleagues in Research Engagement. From the buddy system it's clear that Adebola has put a lot of thought into how to help build connection for new colleagues. The buddy process gives some structure for the new person who has a designated colleague they can turn to for questions, advice, and support. Thanks for sharing the "buddy" approach, Adebola!

Jordan Booth
All summer library staff have been tabling and presenting at new student orientations for the first time in several years due to the pandemic. We've connected with thousands of students. Jordan created some fabulous stickers that the students LOVE and are always a hit -- both with undergraduates and grad students -- at these orientations. They immediately hone in on the stickers with excitement. These stickers demonstrate Jordan's creativity and artistry and are a fun way to promote the Libraries! Thanks, Jordan for sharing your creativity! Also, thanks for being such a welcoming and helpful colleague no matter the situation!

Julie Lu
I'm grateful to Julie for her help managing what turned out to be a complex set of requests related to telephone changes. She persisted through hours of work with ComTech to make the changes and kept me in the loop all the way through. What seemed like straightforward requests turned out to be a lot more challenging and this just goes to show how much effort and care Julie goes to when she handles requests behind the scenes. Shaun Bennett
Shaun, thank you so very much for jumping in and helping me with a last minute request to give a self-guided tour of our amazing library to one of our valuable employer partners!!! It is such a pleasure working with you and I appreciate your dedication and knowledge and your willingness to go above and beyond to make NC State the prestigious University that it is. Moira Downey
Over the past several months, we've received requests from researchers across campus for help with everything from storing sensitive data about human subjects, finding solutions to manage large amounts of data generated from student projects in courses, and ensuring a data projection plan meets both IRB requirements and the funder's requirements. As Moira has worked to launch the Research Facilitation Service (RFS) with Susan Ivey, she's offered to act as a liaison between researchers, the Libraries, and campus OIT experts to get the right information to researchers in a timeframe that works best for them. Moira has approached each of these situations with curiosity, intentionality, and a strong client-focused mindset. I've learned a lot of Moira and am grateful for her expertise and collegiality.

Hillary Fox, Kevin Beswick, Robin Davis, Mia Partlow, Lynn Whittengerger, Jennifer Garrett
I'm grateful to the complex and conscientious work of the Collaborative and Remote Work Task Force (CRWTF). They created outstanding guidance that is so well-organized and accessible! I revisit the Confluence pages on a regular basis, and consider them one of the most important foundations for our work. The guidance, tips, and examples for conducting hybrid meetings, setting up and implementing the onboarding process, and the advice for team building are incredibly helpful for all of us, most especially middle managers and project managers. The meeting free days and TL;DR summaries in each section of the guidance documentation represent the intentionality and care put into this work by this amazing team. Thank you to Hillary Fox, Kevin Beswick, Robin Davis, Mia Partlow, Lynn Whittenberger, and Jennifer Garrett for supporting our work through the Collaborative and Remote Work Task Force (CRWTF).

Yan Song
Yan has been a superstar handling last minute invoices and licenses, helping sort out access issues with our online collections, co-chairing the Electronic Resources Management (ERM) committee, bringing important ebook collections forward, etc. She's always really quick to respond to questions and knows how to get things done. I'm grateful to have Yan as a colleague.

Whenever I have an issue that I'm trying to work through, Allison has probably faced a similar issue and can provide suggestions and/or resources to help me with the problem. For example, she was the one who helped me work out mass emailing, making me much more efficient and increasing transparency when it comes to recruitment.
