The Personal Librarian Program

The Personal Librarian Program is an initiative which matches all incoming NC State students to their own Personal Librarian who can offer guidance and information on how to access and make the best use of the vast array of resources and services available at the Libraries.

What's a Personal Librarian?

Your Personal Librarian is available to be your guide when it comes to the Libraries, but can also be a resource for any questions related to NC State. While we hold different positions at the Libraries, all of us work frequently with students and faculty and are dedicated to helping undergraduates be successful.

How do I participate in the program?

As an incoming student you are automatically enrolled in the program and will receive regular email updates regarding the Libraries' resources and services we feel are essential towards successfully navigating your academic path at NC State. How much or how little you choose to make use of your Personal Librarian is up to you, but we certainly hope that you'll connect with us.

Who is my Personal Librarian and how do I contact them?

Personal Librarian's are assigned according to your specific college of enrollment. Colleges such as the College of Engineering and the College of Sciences have more than one Personal Librarian assigned to them.

Can I meet with my Personal Librarian?

Yes! Every student has the option to create an appointment with their Personal Librarian. We operate through the Calendly scheduling platform so you have plenty of options to find a suitable appointment. The Calendly link will always be included in every email we send out.
