External training opportunities
There are a variety of training resources offered throughout the year supported by federal and state funding agencies, supercomputing centers and national labs, and universities. These are an opportunity to gain exposure to and experience with topics and technologies not currently offered at NC State. The following is a small sample of external training resources available in the research computing and data space.

- San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) Training & Events – note that several webinars listed in the ACCESS calendar are hosted by SDSC; a fuller listing of their training opportunities is available via their website
- SDSC's Comprehensive Learning for End-users to Effectively Utilize Cyberinfrastructure (COMPLECS) series – a coherent training program spanning foundational knowledge to the practical skills that enable cyberinfrastructure users to make best use of these specialized resources.

- NSF National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) Pilot Events and Training – note that many of these events are cross-listed with ACCESS offerings
