AI for Research
Artificial intelligence (AI) comprises a broad range of tools and technologies that can be deployed in the research context. Some basic categories of AI applications can include

There are a number of computing and data resources available right here at NC State to help you use AI in your research.
Compute
NC State maintains its own High Performance Computing cluster that is available to all faculty members (graduate students, postdocs and other collaborators can be added to HPC projects owned by faculty). The cluster houses specialized graphical processing unit (GPU) nodes that can be extremely useful in speeding computation time.

Data storage
NC State faculty are eligible for a baseline of 2TB of network attached storage through OIT's Research Storage service. Most funded projects are eligible for an additional baseline of 2TB, which can be increased to up to 30TB once the initial allocation has been exhausted.
Research Storage is accessible from every node on the HPC cluster, and can be used to store training and other data.
