General Workstations Reservation Guidelines
- Arrive no later than 15 minutes after your reservation start time.
- After 15 minutes, the workstation becomes available to other groups.
- Limit 2 reservations per day.
- You may have maximum of 30 reservations per month.
- Please cancel reservations ASAP if your plans change so others can reserve the workstation.
- The NC State University Libraries reserves the right to change your reservation. This is very rare; should this happen, we will contact you with as much notice as possible.
- If you need to use a workstation for longer than the standard reservations, please contact us with your special request.
Data Workstations Standard Reservations Guidelines
- All General Workstations Guidlines.
- We recommend you stay at the computer for the duration of your reservation except for short breaks. Library staff are not responsible if other patrons log in to the workstation when you are not at the computer.
- Handwritten “reserved” signs will be removed from all machines. Repeated offenses might result in losing access to the data workstations.
- If you need to use the workstation for longer than the standard reservations, request an extended data workstation reservation.
Data Workstations Extended Reservations Guidelines
- You will need to start your project in person at the workstation, but you do not need to be present throughout the extended reservation.
- Do not store your data on the workstation. Make sure you save your data regularly throughout your reservation and take anything you need to retain at the end of your reservation.
- Email getdatahelp@ncsu.edu if your analysis ends early.
- Patrons are not allowed to connect to workstations remotely.
- Only signs for extended reservations that have been generated and placed by staff are allowed on the workstations in the Data Labs. Handwritten “reserved” signs will be removed from all machines. Repeated offenses might result in losing access to the data workstations.
- Please cancel reservations ASAP if your plans change so others can reserve the workstation.
- The NC State University Libraries reserves the right to change your reservation. This is very rare; should this happen, we will contact you with as much notice as possible.
