Visit the Open Cafe to learn more about the Libraries' Alt-Textbook Project, an award-winning program designed to work with NC State faculty members on considering Open Educational Resources (OER) and other alternatives to expensive textbooks alongside supporting them in exploring and creating new resources for their teaching and learning. 

During the course of this event you will learn more about Alt-Textbook, receive insight into the type of support and resources available to you when applying, and highlight some of the success stories which have emerged since the program was launched in 2013. 

We are delighted to be joined by former Alt-Textbook awardee, Dr. Maria Gallardo-Williams, to discuss her experiences working with the Project help to create innovative teaching and learning experiences to the over 3,000 students who enroll in organic chemistry labs at the university each year.
