Dr. Cooper's field of study was botany. He has had an exciting, multifaceted, and award winning career. An early environmental activist, he was head of the North Carolina State University Forestry Department for 14 years. He served by appointment at state and national level environment related agencies, and in 2000, he was an ACC representative to the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
