Mystery writers and fellow Southerners Margaret Maron and Charlaine Harris will serve up a “between friends” conversation at the Hunt Library in this special event. Maron, author of the beloved Deborah Knott series, is the author of 29 novels and two collections of short stories. A native Tar Heel, she still lives on her family’s farm a few miles southeast of Raleigh. She has received the North Carolina Award for Literature, the state’s highest civilian honor.
Charlaine Harris is the New York Times bestselling author of the Southern Vampire Mysteries. The series, which features spirited barmaid Sookie Stackhouse and a cast of supernatural characters, took the reading public by storm, and was used as the source material for the popular HBO drama series True Blood. Day Shift, the latest book in her Midnight, Texas series, was published earlier this year.
Books by both authors will be available on-site for purchase and signing, provided by Quail Ridge Books & Music.
