About This Event

As a graduating senior, College of Textiles student Jazsalyn McNeil used her design skills and a flair for fashion to explain ideas like biometric sensing and nanomaterials to a general audience with her Pulse Dress, which incorporates LEDs that blink with the wearer’s heartbeat. McNeil’s dress - both visually stunning and technologically relevant -- makes the relatively unknown field of electronic textiles self-evident. Now  McNeil is working on projects for galleries and museums, as well as apparel companies across the country.

An interactive installation of the Pulse Dress will be exhibited in the Hunt Library Apple Technology Showcase throughout February 2017.
