About This Workshop
In this session you will learn about what secondary data used for research looks like, any laws governing your use of secondary data, how to complete your IRB application regarding use of secondary data, data security and management, review options for the use of secondary data, issues of consent and secondary data, and information about repositories at NC State.
Does your research involve the use of data collected by others for a reason other than your proposed research project? This session will benefit both new and seasoned researchers regarding using secondary data and communicating that with the IRB. In this session participants will learn the following:
- What secondary data used for research looks like
- Laws and regulations governing your use of secondary data
- How to complete your IRB application regarding use of secondary data
- Data security and management,
- Review options for the use of secondary data, issues of consent and secondary data, and information about repositories at NC State.
This workshop is part of the IRB workshop series held in the NC State University Libraries. There are no prerequisites, but prior knowledge of the IRB process could be helpful for attendees.
