THE RISE OF AMERICAN FORESTRY:

FROM EDUCATION TO PRACTICE

Thanks to a grant from the State Library of North Carolina, North Carolina ECHO (Exploring Cultural Heritage Online) in 2001, this two-phase project created an online resource for research and information on the history of forestry in the state of North Carolina.

The partners - the North Carolina State University Libraries' Special Collections Research Center, the Biltmore Company in Asheville, the Forest History Society in Durham, and the University of North Carolina at Asheville - established this web site to provide access to digital collections of rare and unique items for the general public, students and scholars.
