Audio Booths inside the Digital Media Lab are fully equipped for creating and mixing music, recording voiceovers, transferring audio from analog formats, and editing digital media.

If you are seeking a traditional piano experience, there are eight practice studios available to NC State students on a first-come, first-served basis in Price Music Center, the home of the Music Department.

You must complete an online orientation before reserving an Audio Room. Note that it will take up to 48 hours for you to be added to the system; if you need a reservation on the same day you take the orientation please stop by the space and ask for help from a consultant. You will need to complete the orientation in both cases, but we may be able to set you up with a reservation same day if you stop by in person.

The Media Spaces at Hill are staffed during our open hours, You can find drop-in consultation assistance for projects, technology, and more just by stopping by.

  •   How do I reserve and access this space?

    Who can use this space?

    Only currently affiliated students, faculty, and staff of NC State University may gain access to the Media Spaces. 

    You must complete an orientation before reserving the Audio Booths. Orientations are offered online and during the Digital Media Spaces hours.

    Media Spaces are intended for those creating, editing, or transferring media. You will be asked to forfeit your reservation if you are using them for other purposes. For more information on reservable study rooms please see room use guidelines or reserve an appropriate study room.

    Reserving the Space

    You can make a reservation in our room reservation system after completing an orientation. 

    Checking in

    You must check in at the Digital Media Lab at the time of your reservation to gain admission to the room. 

    Bring your Wolfpack One card should you need to check out additional items to enhance your reservation.

    Use Guidelines

    • Reservable up to 7 days in advance.
    • Reserve for up to 2 hours.
    • Reservable by Students, Graduate Students, Faculty, Staff.
    • After 15 minute grace period for arrival, space becomes available to others.

    Brickyard Entrance

    Elevator

    • Enter the Hill Library from the Brickyard Entrance.
    • Go through the library gates and turn right.
    • Continue towards the reading room and the elevator bay will be on your left.
    • Take the elevator to the first floor.
    • Turn right after exiting the elevator bay and follow the balcony around to the right.
    • Turn right and continue straight until the carpet ends.
    • Turn left down the short hallway.
    • At the end of the hallway turn right.
    • The Digital Media Lab is on the right.
    • Enter the Digital Media Lab.
    • Take the main aisle past the last desk.
    • Audio Booths 1 and 2 are on the left.
    • Audio Booths 3 and 4 are on the right.

    Stairs

    • Enter the Hill Library from the Brickyard Entrance.
    • Go through the library gates.
    • Take the stairs up to the first floor.
    • Turn right past and continue straight until the carpet ends.
    • Turn left down the short hallway.
    • At the end of the hallway turn right.
    • The Digital Media Lab is on the right.
    • Enter the Digital Media Lab.
    • Take the main aisle past the last desk.
    • Audio Booths 1 and 2 are on the left.
    • Audio Booths 3 and 4 are on the right.

    Hillsborough St. Entrance

    Elevator and Stairs

    • Enter the Hill Library from the Hillsborough St. entrance.
    • Go straight through the gates and turn left.
    • Continue down the hallway until you reach the stairs and elevator.
    • Take the stairs or elevator to the first floor.
    • Continue straight through the lobby and until the carpet ends.
    • Turn left down the short hallway.
    • At the end of the hallway turn right.
    • The Digital Media Lab is on the right.
    • Enter the Digital Media Lab.
    • Take the main aisle past the last desk.
    • Audio Booths 1 and 2 are on the left.
    • Audio Booths 3 and 4 are on the right.
