King & the Klan: a Visual Experience
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke at Reynolds Coliseum at NC State University on July 31, 1966. In response to his upcoming visit, the Ku Klux Klan staged an 1,800-person march through downtown Raleigh. In this digital installation crafted by Dr. Margaret Baker and Dr. Jason Miller, students were able to view newly discovered footage of Dr. King and previously undeveloped photographs of the KKK march. Voices of the Russell School
A multifaceted project that brought together members of the local community with the Libraries, the College of Education, and DELTA to present the history and voices of the Historic Russell School, a Rosenwald School built in 1926 in Durham County, North Carolina.

Hall of GIFs
Among the most ubiquitous design elements in the early online community Geocities was the animated GIF, which imbued many pages with a frantic (and often comical) dynamism that became a hallmark of early web design. The Hall of GIFs celebrates the creativity and cultural diversity that thrived within these primitive fan and interest websites.

Audio / Video player usability test
In Spring 2018 the Libraries was developing a custom audio / video player for our digital collections. The player has unique features. We wanted to find out how intiutive users would find the tool.

Special Collections Asset Management System
The Special Collections Asset Management System manages the metadata for digital collections. The web-based interface allows authenticated users to edit descriptive metadata. Parts of digitization workflow and descriptive metadata are automated through semantic identifiers.
