The North Carolina State University Division of Student Affairs Publications contain various internal and external publications produced by the Division of Student Affairs and its committees; the division's member groups, programs, and organizations; and by North Carolina State University students. This includes newsletters, magazines, bulletins, handbooks, course catalogs, archived web content, and other publications related to dining, housing, admissions, registration, financial aid, religious affairs, multicultural affairs, the arts at North Carolina State University, the Reserve Officer Training Corps, student health services, and international student affairs. A significant portion of the material consists of student media publications such as the Agromeck (yearbook), Windhover, and Red and White. The materials are dated 1889 to 2021.

Working under their longstanding motto of "Students First," the North Carolina State University Division of Student Affairs works to provide "programs and services for students and the larger community to enhance quality of life, facilitate intellectual, ethical and personal growth, and create a culture which engenders respect for human diversity." In this pursuit, the member groups and programs of the Division of Student Affairs, including student media organizations, have produced a number of internal and external publications. In 2011, it merged with the Division of Undergraduate Academic Programs to become the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.

Biographical/historical note

(quote taken from the Division of Student Affairs mission website) In this pursuit, the member groups and programs of the Division of Student Affairs, including student media organizations, have produced a number of internal and external publications.

In 2011, the Division of Student Affairs merged with the Division of Undergraduate Academic Programs to become the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.

Scope/content

The North Carolina State University Division of Student Affairs Publications contains various internal and external publications produced by the Division of Student Affairs and its committees, as well as by the division's member groups, programs, and organizations. This includes newsletters, magazines, bulletins, handbooks, course catalogs, archvived web content, and other publications related to university dining, student housing, admissions, registration, financial aid, religious affairs, multicultural affairs, the arts at NC State University, the Reserve Officer Training Corps, student health services, and international student affairs. Also included are student media publications such as the Agromeck (yearbook), Windhover, and Red and White. The materials are dated 1889 to 2020. Please note that additional copies of some of the publications in this records subgroup are cataloged separately and available in either the library's general collection or the Special Collections Research Center's rare books collection. Please check the NC State University Library's online catalog for availablity. Course catalogs and schedules of courses have been authored and printed under the auspices of various campus departments at different times. As such, materials not present in this subgroup can be found housed in UA 005.200.

Arrangement

The contents of this records subgroup are arranged alphabetically and in 16 series: Admissions, Communique, Counseling Center, Course Catalogs, Gallery of Art and Design, Housing and Residence Life, Pack Poll, Registration and Records, Religious Affairs, Scholarships and Financial Aid, Student Affairs Bulletins, Student Media Authority, University Dining, WKNC Double Barrel, Wataugan, and Technician (Loose Issues). Within each series, items are arranged alphabetically and then chronologically.
