Historical Note


The Division of Student Affairs was officially created in 195x, although E. L. Cloyd had served as Dean of Students since 1921. The Division continues today to provide "programs and services for students and the larger community to enhance quality of life, facilitate intellectual, ethical and personal growth, and create a culture which engenders respect for human diversity." (quote taken from the Divison of Student Affairs mission website)

    Subgroup UA 016.001: [HTML] Office of the Vice Chancellor Records, 1889 - 1998

    64 records storage boxes , 96 linear feet

    Contains budget data, correspondence, directories, memoranda, minutes, policies, and reports. The records document student life on campus, including administation of student organizations, admissions, counseling, financial aid, greek life, and residence life from 1889 to 1998. Also includes records pertaining to the Alumni Association, Associate Vice Chancellor's Office, Athletics, Board of Trustees of North Carolina State University, Financial Aid Office, ROTC, Student Government, University of North Carolina System's Board of Governors, University of North Carolina System's General Administration, University of North Carolina System's Institutions and Upward Bound Program.
