MoreThe Juanita Lagg Cooperative Extension Papers consists of records pertaining to North Carolina Extension Homemakers work from 1915 to 2014. The records include photographs, letters, notes, correspondences, newspaper articles, a scrapbook, and other records relating to Juanita Lagg's work with Home Demonstration and Extension organizations. Juanita Lagg actively volunteered with the Rowan County Extension and Community Association for over fifty years. She joined the Rowan County Home Demonstration in 1956 and served in leadership positions at the club, county, district, state, and national level. She served as president of the North Carolina Extension Homemakers in 1971. She was the International Chairman for the National Extension Homemakers in the late 1970s. The North Carolina Extension Homemakers sent Lagg as a delegate to multiple triannual conferences of the Associated Country Women of the World. Lagg researched and directed the North Carolina Extension Homemakers water project in Guatamala that brought clean water to three villages. In 1981, she was appointed by the governor to the Rowan County Board of Social Services and served two three-year terms.
