Neil deGrasse Tyson
Astrophysicist, television host and author
Neil deGrasse Tyson is one of the world’s best-known astrophysicists and science communicators. He is director of New York’s Hayden Planetarium and host of the highly anticipated Carl Sagan reboot, Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey, that will debut in 2014. His appearances on The Daily Show, The Tonight Show and other programs have helped build a new generation of science lovers. Tyson is the author of Space Chronicles, The Pluto Files, and other books.
The event marks the launch of State of the Sciences, a premier education and outreach program hosted by the College that introduces hundreds of science fans to groundbreaking scientific work. The North Carolina Science Festival is helping to sponsor the event.
