A Conversation and Workshop with ForHerCosmetics Founder Alyssa Space

As the founder and CEO of ForHerCosmetics, Alyssa Space is building a cosmetics empire that not only diversifies the beauty industry but inspires the next generation of chemists and entrepreneurs. What started in the kitchen of her mother's home has blossomed into a 350 square foot lab in the heart of Detroit, also known as MySpaceLaboratories. This is where the beauty trailblazer formulates each all-natural lip gloss, lipstick, body shimmer, eyeshadow, and highlighter with vegan and cruelty-free ingredients.

Alyssa will discuss her path to a career in STEM, what she has learned about being a woman in business, and share her insights on the beauty industry. 

Workshop Information:

Alyssa has created a STEAM enrichment hands on experience for students called "Chemistry in Cosmetics". The purpose of this program is to expose students, especially girls, to the possibilities science offers. This program has been demoed with over 2500+ students since March 2019, and everyone that has tried it loves it! In this workshop you will have the opportunity to learn about all the raw materials she uses in her formula while gaining a better understanding of how to make your own lip balm.
