About This Event

Data visualization is inherently visual. Does that mean people with visual impairments or blindness (VIB) are out of luck? Not anymore. Join Ed Summers, a blind Computer Scientist and Director of Accessibility at SAS, for a demonstration of new technology that enables students and professionals with VIB to independently explore data using sonification. Learn more about Ed Summers in this brief video.

Following this talk, the SAS accessibility team will lead a hands-on workshop that teaches participants how to create accessible data visualizations. Please see the workshop page for more information and to register.

*Complimentary coffee, tea and light refreshments from local business Anisette will be available beginning at 9:15 a.m. in an adjacent space. To help increase the sustainability of this program, please bring your own coffee mug.
