About This Event

Want to explore NC State's beautiful Centennial Campus while contributing to citizen science? Want to meet other people on campus interested in nature? Or just want to get your daily steps in on your exercise tracker?

Join us for a campus nature walk led by entomologist and systematist Dr. Matthew Bertone of NC State's Entomology and Plant Pathology department and ecologist Dr. Kaberi Kar Gupta. You will see plants and wildlife, take pictures using your own phone or camera, and learn how to use iNaturalist to contribute data to the  Wolfpack Citizen Science Challenge.

We will take the Lake Raleigh walking trail and explore the revegetated North Creek watershed. Please wear comfortable shoes. The walk will last approximately two hours, cover about 1.2 miles, and is appropriate for all fitness levels (map).

Bring a camera or smartphone with iNaturalist installed and ready to go. You can download the iNaturalist smartphone app for Android or Apple.
