About This Event

Join Frank Stasio (WUNC’s The State of Things), Dr. Marsha Gordon (NC State Film Studies), and Laura Boyes (North Carolina Museum of Art) for a free screening and discussion of The Graduate (1967), the classic coming-of-age film starring Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft, and Katharine Ross. Runtime 106 minutes.

Almost fifty years ago, Mike Nichols’ The Graduate came out and became one of the biggest box office successes of the decade.  With its unforgettable soundtrack by Simon & Garfunkel, the film remains a fixture of popular culture with its story about the aimlessness of new college graduate, Benjamin Braddock, as he prepares enter into the “real” world.

A post-screening discussion and Q&A will be recorded for possible airing on WUNC's The State of Things monthly "Movies on the Radio" program.
