About this device

 The ViewPlus SpotDot creates documents which emboss Braille and can simultaneously print an overlay of text or graphics, in color or black-and-white. 

How can I use the SpotDot Braille Embosser?

The SpotDot Braille Embosser is free to use and available for all NC State University students, faculty, and staff. To use it, request access to the Assistive Technology Center (ATC) from the Ask Us Desk in D.H. Hill Jr. Library.

What software can you use with the SpotDot Braille Embosser?

You can translate and print documents in Braille using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. If you would like to print a Google Docs or PDF file, it will need to be imported into Microsoft Word. 

We encourage you to load any documents you want to print onto a flash drive first. If you do not have a flash drive, you can borrow one from the Ask Us desk.
