Includes 22 maps created by the U.S. Geological Survey between 1898 and 1899 documenting forestry resources in the Western United States. Also includes one map of the United States from the Great Northern Railway. Some maps have color. They are of various sizes, most 110 x 80 cm. or smaller, one 110 x 159 cm.

Dr. Frederick P. Brooks, Jr. is Kenan Professor of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research interests include 3D Interactive Computer Graphics; Human-Computer Interaction; Virtual Worlds, and Molecular Graphics.
