The Jasper Leonidas Stuckey Papers contain publications, personal and professional correspondence, research notes, newspaper clippings, maps, and a rock sample. There are several publications in the field of geology, and research in the area of salt deposits in North Carolina. The personal materials document Stuckey's interest in farming and include items generated by both Stuckey and the United States Department of Agriculture during World War II which illustrate the problems, goals, and difficulties of farm management and food production during the war. The professional records contain correspondence, reprints, information on salt research, correspondence concerning Stuckey's term as State Geologist of North Carolina, and a paper by Dr. W. J. McCoughey on thermochemical mineralogy (1935). The published papers contain maps and papers.

Jasper L. Stuckey was a geologist, educator, farmer, and consultant.
