Digital Twins and Photogrammetry

About this workshop

Introduces participants to photogrammetry as a practical entry point into digital twin workflows. Participants learn how overlapping photographs of real objects and spaces can be reconstructed into 3D models, how to evaluate whether a photo set is likely to work, and how a reconstructed model can support documentation, visualization, planning, teaching, and facilities analysis.

Participants will use a prepared photo and video dataset from The Corner to learn the basic workflow of photogrammetry and digital twin prototyping. The session uses a prepared boulder dataset so participants can focus on the core workflow rather than spending most of the session troubleshooting weak captures.

Participants inspect the dataset, identify signs of strong or weak coverage, import images into RealityScan Desktop, interpret alignment and reconstruction stages, inspect or export a model, and see how the model can be placed into a larger Twinmotion scene.
