Shout-outs From My Colleagues
Shout-outs are kind words from Libraries staff to other Libraries staff for going out of their way to be extra awesome at their job.
Every semester, Aryn helps our team welcome new staff and consultants by guiding us through the process of making laser-engraved badges. Her help means that each new member of our team gets something personalized that makes them feel included from the start—and, most importantly, much more polished and professional than the badges we had before her help. Everyone loves them. We are grateful for her expertise, patience, and generosity, and for the way she keeps making space for this recurring project semester after semester. Thank you, Aryn, for helping us turn a small idea into something our team really values.

I don’t know if Aryn wears a step counter but if she does, I think we would all be astounded by her daily totals. She is always on the move and always in service of someone or some thing. If you notice that everything is running smoothly in the Makerspace or at their events, it's because of Aryn's work to make it so. More evidence of her work, care, and creativity is in the Studios newsletter and any time you see students crowded around a fun craft in the lobby. Many thanks to Aryn for all she does so quietly and so swiftly as she moves through the library on a different mission any given day.

When the User Research Team was looking for fun incentives for user interviews, Aryn helped us by 3D-printing over 150 cool wolf figurines in a range of colors. Students loved them!! Thank you, Aryn, for your expertise and willingness to help!

Thank you to Justin, Aryn, and Alison for doing such a wonderful job planning and presenting the NC State Accessibility Collaborative's first field trip to the Makerspace. We had such a great visit at the Makerspace and learned so much about how to make accessible learning materials. I think everyone who attended will not only be a Makerspace user going forward but will also recommend the Makerspace to colleagues and students. The event was also a great reminder of how important accessibility is to everyone in the libraries and how each of us is doing our part to make the libraries and the university more accessible. Thanks so much for all your hard work and enthusiasm! -Beth
