About This Event

* This program has been canceled.

Take a journey from Earth to deep space as we explore the search for life beyond our world. Using fly-through-the-Universe software called OpenSpace, astrophysicist Rachel Smith will discuss the scientific basis for the search for extraterrestrial life within our own solar system and beyond, as we consider the exoplanets and search for extraterrestrial intelligence. Rachel will also include some of her recent research on forming stars with connections to solar system origins and describe the many data sets and tools that power OpenSpace as a premier tool for visualizing and learning about the Universe with public, research and academic audiences.
