How can I get a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for my data?

A Digital Object Identifier, or DOI, is a type of persistent identifier used to uniquely identify an information resource or other object. Persistent identifiers are long-lasting references to a document, file, web page, or other object.

The easiest way to obtain a DOI is to deposit your data with an established data repository. Dryad assigns all published datasets a DOI. When submitting data to Dryad for publication, if you need the DOI before you submit your dataset, for instance to include in a manuscript submission, you can find the DOI on the ‘Review and Submit’ page under ‘Review Description’.
