NC State's Competitive Edge
The North Carolina State University Libraries has been recognized for its achievements with many national and international awards. This is a forward-looking library system, known for its innovative use of technology, its inspiring learning and research spaces, the strengths of its collections, and its catalytic role in developing the next generations of librarians, scholars, and innovators. The Libraries consists of the D. H. Hill Jr. Library, the James B. Hunt Jr. Library, and branch libraries for design, natural resources, and veterinary medicine.
Key Awards Include:
- 2021 American Libraries "Library Design Showcase," the D. H. Hill Jr. Library renovation featuring the Academic Success Center and new, technology-rich visualization and study spaces
- 2018 ALA "Information Today Library of the Future Award," for innovative development of patron training programs about information technology
- 2017 Library Journal's "New Landmark Libraries," the James B. Hunt Jr. Library
- 2016 "National Medal for Museum and Library Service," NC State University Libraries
- 2014 "John Cotton Dana Library Public Relations Award," the Hunt Library
- 2014 "Stanford Prize for Innovation in Research Libraries," the Hunt Library

Staff Honors Include:
