What's the Wolfpack Reading This Summer?

A new website sponsored by the NCSU Libraries is up and ready to give you some great ideas for summer reading. What could be better than looking over the shoulders of the Olympic-quality readers at North Carolina State University as they dig into the reading they have been waiting to find a few hours for all school year?

Summer can be a great time to catch up on all those books, magazine articles, blog posts and newsletters that you've put in your I really want to/need to read this  pile for months. We've asked members of our Red & White faculty and other community members what books will be perched next to their comfy chairs on the screen porch once classes are done, both as they read to hone knowledge in specialized academic areas or just pick up the Kindle for pleasure.

Ask people who read and research for a living what they love and you are bound to get a fascinating list. You'll find great advice on everything from The Authoritative Calvin and Hobbes to Catalytic Asymmetric Synthesis (both on the list of Jeremy Feducia of the Department of Chemistry) to The Year of Living Biblically (recommended by Nan Fleming, proud parent of an NC State grad and an incoming NC State student) to Beer is Proof That God Loves you (from Kwesi Craig Brookins, associate professor of psychology and Africana studies). Want to know what Barack Obama's mother was like? Or what spiritually troubles a woman as she leaves the life of the cloister? What's it's like to struggle with temporal lobe epilepsy? Or just luxuriate in Stacy Schiff's Cleopatra ?

Wolfpack Summer Reads (/news ) is a great place to kick off shoes, get your summer off on the right foot, and ”in the best Wolfpack tradition ”learn something to boot. A glass of cold tea is recommended.
