About This Event

Come learn how to use the power of code to create custom data visualizations. The NCSU Libraries' Code+Art program is happy to offer this workshop, which will be led by Cédric Warny, Senior Associate Data Scientist at SAS and organizer of the Triangle Creative Coders meetup group.Whether you are an artist looking to create more sophisticated, larger scale and/or more interactive work, or you are a computer scientist interested in giving a visual expression to your knowledge, this workshop is a beginner-level hands-on event. Learn basic concepts of object-oriented programming and algorithms and grapple with basic ideas of computer graphics. You will be using code to wrangle your personal data from Facebook to design an interactive data visualization with p5.js. A data set will be provided for those who do not wish to use their data or who do not have a Facebook account.Lunch will be provided at this day-long intensive workshop! We will also have laptops available for use.
