  Welcome to the James B. Hunt Jr. Library.

  The library was famously featured in Time Magazine as the library of the future.

  Fun fact, the architecture of Hunt Library is inspired by a textile loom, a nod to North Carolina's history in textile manufacturing.

  Inside you'll find immersive visualization spaces, large scale display walls, digital media and gaming labs, music studios, study spaces and much more.

  One of its most unique features is the bookBot, an automated storage and retrieval system.

  The system can store up to 2 million books and other items requiring only one ninth the space of conventional library shelving.

  Unlike most libraries, the books are sorted by size, not call number, shelf order is not necessary. The system already knows the exact location of every book.
