The first master’s degree at NC State was awarded in 1894. A Graduate School existed at NC State from 1923 to 1931, but it was eliminated after the consolidation of the public universities in North Carolina. After this, graduate studies at NC State were considered a division of the Graduate School at UNC Chapel Hill. The Graduate School at NC State University was reestablished in the 1950s, and since then its students have been conducting research in and are issued degrees in the fields of agriculture and life sciences, design, education, engineering, natural resources, humanities and social sciences, management, physical and mathematical sciences, textiles, and veterinary medicine.
This collection contains microfiche of NC State graduate student theses and dissertations. These are backup copies of theses and dissertations publicly available on the NC State Theses and Dissertations site. Print copies are also available using the NC State University Libraries Catalog. The microfiche copies in this collection are available for access if the other formats are unavailable.
