Included as well are research notes from different projects and experiments involving pharmacology and toxicology, grant reports and study reports pertaining to Riviere's work with pharmacology and toxicology for North Carolina State University, the United States Department of Defense, the United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Agency, and several private corporations. The collection also contains copies of published articles, conference programs and computer-printed drafts of textbooks and textbook chapters written and co-written by Jim E. Riviere and his wife and co-researcher, Nancy A. Monteiro-Riviere, Lab Notebooks for IPPSF Department of Defense (including Laminin), and other Studies. As of January 2007, Jim E. Riviere was Burroughs Wellcome Fund Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology; Director, Center for Chemical Toxicology Research and Pharmacokinetics, College of Veterinary Medicine; and Director of the Biomathematics Program of the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. His research interests relate to applying biomathematics to problems in toxicology, including the risk assessment of chemical mixtures, pharmacokinetics, absorption of drugs and chemicals across skin, and the food safety and pharmacokinetics of tissue residues in food producing animals.
