This collection was compiled by NCSU Alumnus Roger Ferguson who attended the All-Campus concerts in 1970 and 1973. All-Campus was a weekend-long festival held at NC State University that happened at the end of the school year from 1966 to 1973.
All-Campus was a weekend-long festival held at North Carolina State University, taking place at the end of the school year. The festival featured concerts that started in the afternoon and continued well into the evening. First established in 1966, All-Campus quickly grew in popularity (partially due to the success of Woodstock and other outdoor concerts). In 1970, the Sunday concert featured music from Don McLean, Rotary Connection, Pentangle, and Steppenwolf, who had recently found success with their song “Born To Be Wild.” That year, the concert drew over 5,000 attendees, with student tickets costing just $3.50 each. Other notable acts in the following years included B.B. King, Alice Cooper, and the Steve Miller Band. The last All-Campus concert was held in 1973, as financial costs and security costs were deemed too high to continue.
Roger Ferguson, an NC State alumnus, collected these materials. Ferguson attended the All-Campus concerts as an NCSU student in 1970 and 1973 before graduating in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
This collection contains one ticket from the 1970 All-Campus concert and one t-shirt from the 1973 All-Campus concert.
