About This Exhibit

This exhibit features the work of students in COM/ENG 395: Teaching the Machine to Write and other AI Adventures. These students have been exploring different writing technologies and their development into and within machine environments through the lenses of critical making, experimental design, and cultural critique. The exhibit explores the prototypes for experimental writing machines created by these students, including their development process and their current stage in project development. These machines reveal new possibilities and investigate existing gaps in software and hardware design, digital spaces, and digitally-mediated communication.
