About This Exhibit

In an era defined by constant technological shifts, designers shape the future by treating tinkering as both a rigorous method and a vital mindset. By prioritizing hands-on play, they cultivate the nimbleness, curiosity, and critical inquiry necessary to navigate and lead within a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

GXD: Graphic & Experience Design Tinkering presents the culminating work of students in GD 210: Image & Tech Tinkering. Led by Valeria Lopez Torres, Assistant Professor of Graphic & Experience Design, and Kweku Baidoo, Graphic & Experience Design Assistant Teaching Professor, the exhibition celebrates the intersection of technical curiosity and creative risk-taking through the lens of design.

Spanning digital interfaces and immersive environments, these projects illustrate how technology can be wielded with both intention and artistry. Through the exploration of augmented reality (AR), VR, and generative AI, students investigated how emerging tools mediate our daily human interactions.
