Coastal Community Resilience Immersive Training Program

About This Exhibit
During Summer 2026, six interns in the Coastal Community Resilience Immersive Training (C-CRIT) Program spent 10 weeks collaborating with the City of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, to assess climate risks and support local resilience planning. Situated along the Tar River, Rocky Mount continues to navigate increasing impacts from extreme heat, heavy rainfall, and flooding. These six posters feature the interns' summer research, detailing how environmental hazards affect vulnerable neighborhoods and identifying opportunities—like expanding green infrastructure and urban tree canopy—that harness Rocky Mount's vibrant parks, history, and community strength.
The C-CRIT Program is a collaboration between NC State’s Climate and Sustainability Academy and Center for Geospatial Analytics, with support from the Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology, and Science and Conservation Corps North Carolina. To learn more, visit go.ncsu.edu/c-crit.
