Artist-in-residence Clarence Heyward will work alongside participants to assemble collages based on the African American Cultural Center’s MLK and Black History Month programming. Participants will be able to focus on the future they hope for or changes that they would like to see. No prior art experience necessary; all materials will be provided. Open to students and graduate students, and space is limited. Clarence Heyward is a Brooklyn-born painter and collagist whose work explores notions of the Black American experience. Heyward is participating in a one-week intensive artist residency on campus, coordinated by Arts NC State. For more information about his work, visit https://www.clarenceheyward.com/.
