Juliette Bianco

Associate Vice Chancellor for Museums and Creative Practice/Anne and Ben Cone Memorial Endowed Director

As Associate Vice Chancellor for Museums and Creative Practice/Anne and Ben Cone Memorial Endowed Director, Bianco advances UNC Greensboro's interdisciplinary mission through leading the vision and setting the strategic direction of the Weatherspoon Art Museum, a nationally accredited art museum, and the Jeanne Tannenbaum Center for Creative Practice, an innovative transdisciplinary center for creative innovation and exchange. She leads these two facilities with a shared purpose—to use the spaces, staff, faculty and students, art collections, creative residencies, local and national partnerships, and other UNCG resources to create a third space for teaching, learning, and community engagement. Together, these elements promote access and collaboration with creativity and art for UNCG and the broader community.

Prior to arriving at UNCG, Bianco served for 25 years at the Dartmouth College’s Hood Museum of Art. Juliette's scholarly interests focus on transformational leadership in higher education and on university museums as hubs of innovative teaching and learning; creative partnerships; and the benefits of a diverse and inclusive community.

She is a graduate of Dartmouth College and holds a master’s degree from the University of Chicago and an EdD from Northeastern University. Juliette received a 2019 New England Museum Association (NEMA) Excellence Award and was a member of the Board of the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries (AAMG) from 2021–2024.
