Amber Shaverdi Huston graduated from Pittsburg State University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations. Amber completed her Master of Science degree in student development theory at Eastern Illinois University. Amber earned her Certified Association Executive designation from the American Society of Association Executives in 2016. In 2020 Eastern Illinois University honored Amber as an Outstanding Alumnus. 2024 Pittsburg State University honored Amber with the Dr. Kenneth K. Bateman Outstanding Alumni Award.

Professionally, Amber is the Executive Director of the National Association for Campus Activities and Education Foundation. Amber serves on the Marriott International Customer Advisory Council and the Higher Education Consortium for Student Affairs Certification board. In her volunteer capacity she serves as national president for Alpha Sigma Alpha. She lives in Columbia, SC with her husband, Andy, daughter, Hattie and son, Bergen. When not traveling, Amber cheers.
