" ... a collection of recently declassified records documenting the history of U.S. policy toward and relations with South and North Korea from the Nixon to the Clinton administrations. The records cover a wide range of issues, including foreign policy, defense policy, economic and trade relations, and intelligence assessments. The years covered by the set were chosen to extend the range of declassified primary research documentation on the making of U.S. policy regarding the two Koreas beyond the time period covered so far by the State Department's Foreign Relations of the United States documentation series. The set is meant to be a unique addition to existing collections of documents on U.S.-Korea relations, incorporating in particular the Don Oberdorfer materials collected for research on his book The Two Koreas: A Contemporary History (New York: Basic Books, 2001), which he has generously donated to the National Security Archive. ...
