Description
Searchable archive of news broadcasts and abstracts from 1968 to present (ABC, CBS, NBC), 1995 to present (CNN), selected content from PBS and FOX News. Streaming video content from NBC nightly news and CNN broadcasts viewable free of charge to subscribers. Descriptive summaries of the Vanderbilt University collection of network television news programs and other news-related programming collected in its archive since August 5, 1968. Loan copies of videotapes in 3/4 inch U-matic & 1/2 inch VHS format are available for a fee from the Archive.
How do I access this database?
If you have already registered for a Television News Archive account:
- Visit the Television News Archive, enter your @ncsu.edu email address and click Login.
- On the next page, enter the password you chose when setting up your Television News Archive account and click the Login button.
If you have not yet registered for a Television News Archive account:
- Visit the Television News Archive, enter your @ncsu.edu email address and click the Sign Up button.
- Choose a password and enter it into the form in the Password and Confirm Password form. Then click Sign Up.
- A verification code email will be sent to your @ncsu.edu email account. Open that email and enter the code into the box on the Television News Archive.
- Once the code is entered, login to the Television News Archive with your @ncsu.edu email address and the password you chose.
- When you login for the first time, you will need to provide your first and last name and choose Higher Education as your Field and then click the Save Information button.
