The African American Cultural Center Reading
Room houses a collection of educational and leisure reading resources by and
about Africans, African-Americans, and other members of the African Diaspora.
The collection supports Africana Studies, Women's and Gender Studies, and the
IDS (Interdisciplinary Studies Course).
Services & Equipment
The AACC Reading Room has computer workstations that provide internet access,
online searching of the entire NCSU Libraries collection and databases, and
online access to course reserve materials. Items not available in the NCSU
Libraries can be requested online through "Tripsaver" (the interlibrary
and document delivery service). From the "Ask Us" link under Services
on the NCSU homepage, reference service is available by phone, instant message, text message,
and e-mail.
The AACC Reading Room has wireless capabilities, a photocopier and a black
and white Telesensory Voyager Visualtek CCTV with screen magnification for
the visually impaired, and a TV/VCR/DVD for viewing videocassettes and DVDs.
Borrowing
Materials may be checked out of the AACC Reading Room by NCSU students, staff,
and faculty only. NOTE! To assure that the item you are seeking is not in circulation please call 515-1397.
Policies
Cell phones, pagers, food and drinks are not permitted in the AACC Reading
Room.

1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Friday
